If you’re shopping on Amazon and have just received an Apple Pay payment, you may have noticed that the Pay with Apple Pay button isn’t appearing for you on any of the product listings.
That can be frustrating, especially if you want to use the money from your iPhone to pay for something without having to wait around for your bank transfer to go through.
Why doesn’t Amazon accept Apple Pay? After all, it has deep roots in technology and takes payments using credit cards that are paid by its customers through online portals like PayPal and other online methods like Google Wallet and Venmo.
Yes, you can use Apple Pay in the Amazon app
Apple Pay is available in the Amazon app on your iPhone or iPad for purchasing physical goods and services such as groceries, clothing, toys, and electronics.
You can also use Apple Pay for purchasing digital content and subscriptions such as books, music, movies, and TV shows. Apple Pay also allows you to donate to your favourite charities. To do this, tap Donate from the main menu within the Amazon app, then select Donate Now from the options that appear.
Use your iPhone or iPad to tap Apple Pay, and enter your donation amount and contact information. You’ll need to be sure that all of your credit cards are saved in your Wallet (see Saving Credit Cards) before donating. If a charity doesn’t accept donations with Apple Pay, please contact them directly.

How apple pay on Amazon works
Apple Pay is a contactless payment system that uses Apple iOS devices to quickly make payments to your desired vendor.
To use Apple Pay, you need to have a card saved on your iOS device beforehand. Adding your card allows you to use Apple Pay at the point of sale to make purchases in stores, apps, and websites.

Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later models, iPad Pro 9.7-inch (2018), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2018), iPad 5th generation, iPod touch 6th generation – so long as they are running iOS 11 or later.
There are a few reasons why it would make sense for Amazon to accept Apple Pay. First, Apple Pay is a very popular mobile payment system that allows users to make purchases with their iPhone or Apple Watch.
Second, Apple Pay is convenient and easy to use, which would appeal to Amazon’s customers. Third, accepting Apple Pay would allow Amazon to tap into a new market of potential customers who use Apple Pay. Fourth, Apple Pay is secure and private, which aligns with Amazon’s commitment to customer security. There may indeed be a cost associated with this decision.
For example, there may be an additional cost to add the functionality onto the website or app to process payments through Apple Pay, but this will likely be minimal in comparison to the benefits of expanding access to more consumers.
Furthermore, retailers such as Walmart have reported increased sales since they started accepting Apple Pay, so it seems as though adding Apple Pay would have significant benefits for Amazon.
Ultimately, I think it makes sense for Amazon to accept Apple Pay because it has the potential to grow its market share by tapping into a new group of consumers who already use this type of technology.
It also provides convenience and ease of use to those customers who want to purchase items on Amazon without having to input their credit card information each time.
Finally, some clear advantages come with adopting Apple Pay – mainly the security features and privacy protections – which can only benefit Amazon in the long run.
